Florence is located in the famous ‘Royal Gorge Region’ of Colorado, home of some of the greatest tourist attractions in the nation. The Royal Gorge Bridge spans the Arkansas River over a gorge, 1053 feet the water, the world’s highest suspension bridge. Whether you choose to walk or drive over the bridge you can also many other attractions at the Bridge Park. There is and old west town, mountain man encampment, wildlife area, mule trail rides ,food and fun for a full day.

The Royal Gorge Route Railroad travels daily through the gorge offering unique sight seeing from the bottom up. Fine dining and evening entertainment are also offered.

People come from allover the world to experience the whitewater rafting in the Arkansas River. This is an adventure no matter how many times you go. Trips very in length and challenge. There are even raft rides that pass on the river around Florence.

There are places to ride horses, all terrain vehicles, zip lines, sky dive, kayak and hike. There are places to taste wine, listen to music, walk by the river and just relax.


Gold Belt Tour
The Gold Belt Tour retraces the historic routes connecting Cripple Creek and Victor Mining District, the site of the world’s largest gold rush’ to the communities of Florence, Canon City and Florissant. You can follow the trails of history by traveling the Phantom Canyon Road, the Shelf Road or the High Park Road from Florence to the high country gold camps of old.
The routes are full of history and spectacular scenery. Enjoy the wildlife and the rugged landscape on your trek to Cripple Creek. Instead of pitching a tent and searching for gold you can visit one of the many modern day casinos, gift shops and eating establishments.
